Despite the date, our April 2019 3D Artist of the Month is not fooling around. Gifted character artist Angela Rico hones her skills and pursues her goals with unwavering determination. A high achiever in every sense of the word, she not only graduated from prestigious Gnomon School of Visual Effects, Games and Animation with a staggering seven ‘Best of Term’ awards under her belt, but managed to land her dream job right after. Her work is characterized by meticulous attention to detail and stands as a prime example of visual storytelling.

Shhh! Try not to make too much noise as we venture deep into the woods for our March 2019 ArtWanted! feature, or we might draw the unwanted attention of the reclusive forest dweller. Instead, let us focus all of our attention on Vitaly Varna, talented 3D environment artist from Lithuania and creator of the clandestine scene pictured above.
Thankfully, Vitaly welcomed us with open arms and readily talked about the ins and outs of environment art and the development process of his latest personal project.

The situation in Yemen is getting worse and worse. Every day children are suffering from hunger, violence and diseases. UNICEF is on-site, helping those children in need. They treat malnourished children with therapeutic special food in the form of peanut paste or special milk. Both are particularly rich in nutrients and calories to help them gain new strength. The children are given vaccines against diseases such as diphtheria or cholera. Furthermore, the UNICEF team repairs schools, provides the children with educational material and takes care that there are teachers.

Although February has passed, it is still Valentine’s day at RebusFarm! Our March 2019 ‘3D Artist of the Month’, talented 3D modeling and texturing artist Valentin Erbuke, has gifted us some delicious eye-candy. Half elf, half dryad, his equally fierce and delicate ‘Jungle Hunter’ shot an arrow straight through our hearts! At only 23 years, Valentin’s work, notable for its realism and visual coherence, has already earned him a great many admirers in the CG community.
In our interview, Valentin talks about falling in love with 3D, his reasons for relocating overseas and the benefits of teaching.

What do creative crustaceans, caffeine and rubber ducks have in common? Simple: They all blend together in the brand CG artist and educator Gleb Alexandrov has successfully built from the ground up over the last years. A vocal proponent of open-source software, Gleb focuses on content creation centered on the free 3D software Blender. His vast knowledge, shared in the form of videos and tutorial courses, continues to benefit countless aspiring 3D artists worldwide.
We once again had the pleasure to sit down with Gleb and talked about digital freedom, content creation and his recent push in game development.

In November 2018, star architect Shigeru Ban unveiled his plans for Kentucky Owl Park, a 420-acre complex in Bardstown, Kentucky, dedicated to the production of the famous American bourbon whiskey. The stunning 3D animation used to showcase the design, however, is the work of the talented team at Virginlemon, an Intereuropean studio specializing in architectural visualization and winner of our 3D Artist of the Month competition in February 2019.
We sat down with Carlotta Cominetti and Tamás Fischer to talk about digital worlds, their guaranteed sober approach to archviz animation and an exceptional collaboration spanning different continents.

We are off to a more than promising start, as Andrea Bertaccini kicks off 2019 with his rendition of beautiful Charlize Theron in her role of Furiosa from ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’. Lately, he has devoted his long-standing experience and spare time to pay homage to the South-African actress via a series of hyperrealistic images. A veteran in the business, Andrea has been navigating the waters of the CG industry at the helm of Tredistudio for close to two decades.
